L’exposition «Lamarckia» est un projet artistique centré sur l’exploration d’un écosystème extraterrestre unique.
L’origine de cet ensemble de pièces est tirée du récit de science-fiction Héritage de Greg Bear, décrivant la planète Lamarckia. Ce monde est remarquable par ses formes de vie (les «scions») qui évoluent et s’adaptent de manière exceptionnellement rapide, un phénomène qui fait écho à la théorie du lamarckisme.
Le projet d’exposition vise à établir un catalogue visuel de cette biodiversité hors norme. Il utilise une approche mixte, combinant des techniques artistiques traditionnelles (dessins, aquarelles, sculptures) avec l’intelligence artificielle générative.
Les thèmes abordés incluent la complexité et l’interconnexion des systèmes vivants (les «ecoï»), la capacité d’adaptation face aux contraintes environnementales, et soulève des questions fondamentales sur l’évolution et la place de l’humanité dans l’écologie. Lamarckia sert ainsi de prisme pour réfléchir aux défis écologiques contemporains.

The exhibition “Lamarckia” is an artistic project centered on the exploration of a unique extraterrestrial ecosystem.
The origin of this body of work is drawn from Greg Bear’s science-fiction novel Heritage, which describes the planet Lamarckia. This world is remarkable for its life forms (the “scions”), which evolve and adapt at an exceptionally rapid pace—a phenomenon that echoes the theory of Lamarckism.
The exhibition project aims to create a visual catalogue of this extraordinary biodiversity. It employs a mixed approach, combining traditional artistic techniques (drawings, watercolors, sculptures) with generative artificial intelligence.
The themes explored include the complexity and interconnectedness of living systems (the “ecoï”), the capacity for adaptation in the face of environmental constraints, and raise fundamental questions about evolution and humanity’s place within ecology. Lamarckia thus serves as a lens through which to reflect on contemporary ecological challenges.
